Testing - unrivalled blast protection

Bi-Steel provides unrivalled blast protection and blast containment.

Over 100 full-scale tests have been conducted on blast walls and other structures made of Bi-Steel. Since 1997, a major series of vehical impact and explosive tests has been undertaken on Bi-Steel by Corus in association with recognised UK and US government agencies. The range of threats assessed has included vehicles of varying sizes at varing speeds, bare explosive charges, shells, mortars and rocket propelled grenades.

The purpose of these tests was to assess Bi-Steel’s resistance to vehicle impact and explosive attack. The results prove that Bi-Steel is ideally suited to protect people and assets.

  • Vehicle impact - Bi-Steel meets the performance standards of PAS 68:2007, the accepted UK classification system for vehicle security barriers.
  • Blast protection - Bi-Steel offers superior blast protection and is approved for use by the UK and US governments for protective buildings work.
