Bi-Steel design

The Bi-Steel technical team works with clients and their project teams to design a Bi-Steel structure that meets requirements.

Bi-Steel panels
Bi-Steel panels are the basis of all Bi-Steel structures. A panel consists of two steel face plates separated by an array of transverse bar connectors.
Blast protection
The steel and concrete composite structure of Bi-Steel provides unrivalled blast protection and blast containment.
Connections
A range of connection methods, including welded, bolted, re-bars and Surefast, can be used to join Bi-Steel panels depending on the speed of construction and strength of connection required.
Corrosion protection
Bi-Steel is made from structural grade steel and, in certain environments, requires protection against corrosion. A number of effective methods of protection are available.
Openings and attachments
Service penetrations, doors and windows all require openings to be created in Bi-Steel panels. Also, during building fit out it is usually necessary to make a number of attachments to Bi-Steel elements.
Fatigue
Fatigue has to be part of the research programme through out the development of Bi-Steel resulting in design guidance appropriate to many applications.
