Corus Bi-Steel introduces new vertical opening Drop Arm Gate

A vertically opening Drop Arm Gate has been introduced to complement Bi-Steel’s existing swing gate.
It is designed for use on those occasions where a swing gate is not practicable, for example where the site is restricted and there is not adequate space for the horizontal gate arm to swing open.
The product was developed in conjunction with the police authorities who identified the need for a gate of this type on occasions when the National Barrier Asset (NBA) is being used. The NBA is a stock of Bi-Steel vehicle security barriers, which is used at high profile events such as state visits, and on other similar security-sensitive occasions, to control vehicle access and protect from vehicle bomb attack.
The new Drop Arm Gate is manually operated via a counter-balanced weight and has a cable reinforced boom. It is used in conjunction with Bi-Steel standard barge units.
The gate has recently been tested in accordance with PAS 68 and an order has just been placed for units to be used as part of the National Barrier Asset.
